Some days are so painful

Woke up this morning, with such horrible pain in my lower back, only my right side. I am not sure anymore if this is part of my RA? I did not lift anything wrong.. I had to come home from work early, because the pain was getting worse.

Have any of you experience this??

I have pain in my lower back also from sleeping. Sometimes it hurts so bad through the night. What meds are you on ? I'm on my third med - Areva due to having side effects that where too hard to handle with other meds !

Go see your GP straight away. My thoughts are a possible kidney infection. It is just the most painful thing. Best of luck.

I am recovering from back surgery and i can't lift anything at the moment. I know how i did mine as i was helping my son do his garden after they had brought a house last year. See your dr and ask for a mri so they can see what is wrong with your back.xxxx

I agree with Deniseelk to go check with GP as might be infection.If you ask your rheumy they just generalise and say it's all part of RA when it might not be.

hi, I have been through that, I took sick last august and like that wakened with a severe back pain like you have thought I had twisted myself somehow. I had it for two weeks docs put it down to mechanical back pain after the two weeks it eased but then I took a severe painful shoulder on the left was told it was frozen shoulder then my right shoulder started as well nfinally I was diagnoses in October with r.a so I think ra just attacks whatever whenever its a bloody nuisance,not to put you on a downer lol a year has passed and still not regulated with medication as ive had a bad reaction to three medications so far, but again its always best to check with your doc that it is r a.i feel your pain

I would suggest you make an appointment to see your GP. Pain there could be one of a few things not necessarily RD related.

It's very easy to blame all our aches and pains on our RA but sometimes it's not. As NMH says you'd be best off getting it checked by your GP. Hugs

Thank you everyone, called my Primary last night, yesterday was my heavy med day. Took Flexarile and a Xanex, on top of my Synthroid, Methotrexate, Voltarin and Folic acid... I don't think I fell asleep until 1:00am. Called Rheumatologist going this afternoon to see her and hopefully she will do something or ER here I come, just to get some answers.. frustrating and still in pain. I can honestly say since I started all of this medication 9 weeks ago, I have been getting sicker..

Thinking of going off of everything?? Seeing what my body does then, maybe putting medication into my system is not working.. ???

I think of my Sister constantly.as she had Scleroderma, took so many medications just to move.. now she is gone, 1 year since this past weekend..

I believe all of the meds, killed her..

just so scared, all of this unknown..

The Doctor said it is Sciatica and gave me Flexarile. Should take a few days to calm down. Don't know why I got it, but it is painful. Thank you everyone for the good advice!!
