Bowling away....

Hi,

I have been away many months and I like to just say hello and give a little update here. I am still in remission and back to a very active and normal life at this moment.

This was indeed my very first bowling session since the RA problem in Jun 2014. I was a bit hesitate if my hands could handle the weight of the ball with the swing? I was so happy I did it and I scored reasonably.

Remember, my today will be your tomorrow!! Your today was my past!!

Dear ITFIALMCTT,

My rheumatologist declared my remission since Apr 2016, I hope I will continue in remission forever to avoid the painful experience again. However, I am still taking the methotrexate accordingly and I still continue my daily exercise faithfully.

Hiya Amy Lee. Lovely to see you here again & pleased you're doing so well. It gives hope to newer members that remission can be achieved. x

Remission can be achieved for sure. I have been busy with other volunteer work hence I have not been in any group. Now that I checked in again, another local group was requesting help for how to make the fingers straight again? I have shared my experience there. I will share my experience here too slowly. I feel so good to be able to help a little.

I'd be interested in that Amy, though mine are caused by OA, maybe it's not possible without an op. I'm sure others with RD affected fingers will be interested though.

Dear nomoreheels,

Agree with you. But then I was surprised when one of the RA patient posted to ask for help on her curved in fingers? I thought it is normal that one will find similar way to handle that. Look like I was very wrong but experience will help other to progress faster.

I was so worried to find my fingers all curved in and I tried ways and means to make them straight again. As long as I sat down and not using my fingers, I sat on them. But at the beginning, it was painful when I did that and I could only slowly sit to the level of pain I could tolerate. Slowly I could just do it without any problem.

Because I sat on them using my own body weight hence it was easy for me to control it. To start off, I could only sit on one hand slowly. If I sat on both the hands at the same time, I could not control the level of pain I was facing. This is the technic and I hope I need not put it down? Do you think I need to put that down in another post to make it clearer? :)

Well it's a little unorthodox but as it worked for you I'm pleased. 🙂

Amy Lee, so glad you are still in remission and doing so well. I'm still looking to that in my future. I'll write a new post with my latest adventures soon. I still remember your posts about exercise in the park and where you started! Truly the miraculous transformation!

Hi,

Yes, work hard on it yourself, you will see result. No one can help us but ourselves if we want to be back to normal again. It was painful but fruitful. Yes, our experience will help other with HOPE! Do share your experience here if you have the time.

Dear Marie,

Yes, I am doing very well. In fact, I have been traveling up and down to help conduct polling and counting agents training for the opposition. The election will be coming very soon in Malaysia and we hope to change the corrupted government. Opposition has no fund to conduct their own training therefore many volunteers like me help them to train their members to be part of the game when the election come.

Sickening corrupted government here.

I wish you ( and the opposition) the very best in terms of positive change.

Dear Marie,

Yes, we are all looking forward to change the corrupted government but it is not easy as they have been in power for 50 years already.

Hello Amy_Lee,

Good to hear from you again, have been wondering how you were doing. Great that you are still in remission. Are you taking any meds?

Amy_Lee profile image
Amy_Lee in reply toSimba1992

Hi Simba,

Yes, I am still taking mtx but reduced from 8 tablets to now 4 tablets. My rheumy said that if my condition continue to be as good, then another year, now 6 more months down the road, she intends to reduce to 3 tablets a week for me.

How about you, my dear friend? Are you getting better now?

Hello again,

Sounds great! I am still trodding along on my no meds journey. Lots of trial and error, set backs and new revelations an understanding of my disease. I am not symptom free but do not need pain meds anymore and many things are going in a good direction. All the best to you xxSimba

Good to know that Simba. May I know why are you having no meds journey? No pain meds is good but what about DMARDS?

There are many things that prevent me from using dmards. The list is very long😊
