On the home front it has also been one of the worst years of my life where things have gone consistently wrong. eg...... no heating no hot water & a half built extension, since April. & no I don't smell I have an electric shower! My son who is overseeing & financing the extension ( paying back a loan) has been extremely ill & could of died, he's still on the mend. As he's self employed his battles will be on going.
My RD can't get a look in at the moment although has tried a few times!!
Off to Tenerife tomorrow for 3 weeks π Thank you to everyone on this site. X

You need that break Caza! Sorry to hear about your sojourn in hospital Christmas Day, concerning stuff. I hope things settle, how nice of that doctor to check on you! Pleased your son is recuperating, though that must have been & still is a real worry.
Enjoy your hols, maybe things will seem a bit better for relaxing. I hope your extension with it's added problems are completed soon. x
The worst of it was my daughter in law who always spends Xmas day with her folks very kindly offered to host lunch, a big deal for her & of course none of us were well enough to join them π I felt so upset for her & so guilty that I've decided never again, Xmas day will be spent home alone & preferably abroad π (abroad is sort of home as well, in fact more so now π€)
Yes the young doc was lovely, I felt really sorry for him when he took me into a quiet room to give me the results. He was so nervous very sweet. He said do you have any questions, yes I can I please go home now.
A good dose of laid back sunshine just what I need x
I'm sure she understood, but what a shame after going to all that trouble, couldn't be helped though. Before moving out there we spent a few Christmases in Spain, it's different but a nice different.
The doc must have been concerned for you, nerves are lost the more they get used to delivering information but I bet you nearly ran out of there, or would have if you could! Enjoy the curing warmth of the sun. Sounds just the ticket. x
When my sister, who was my best friend, died suddenly in November a few years back now, I decided to bring the whole family over to Tenerife for Christmas. It was great, we ate fish & salad over looking the sea. Then we all went back & swam & selpt by the pool. No queues for food etc...bliss. As you know there Xmas day is on the 6th Jan which is very religious & lovely to watch. Very different here.
Yes the doctor was very young, very sweet young man. He will get used to it & the news wasn't that bad unless I missed something
I'm so sorry Caza, that must have been doubly difficult for you but how lovely that something so awful brought all of you together to make it a nice Christmas. I can just imagine you all, enjoying the good food & the sun, brill!
I used to love the evening of the 5th, the Kings arrival & the excitement of the children. We used to go down to the coast & watch them come in by boat then follow the parade through the town to a stage outside the Town Hall where they'd sit on thrones & give out the presents. Happy memories. Next day was family day, as you say a very religious day so church then huge family lunch, all the shops were closed & everywhere deadly quiet.
Just watched the three kings go by, children in hot pursuit. Live bands dancing & fireworks π₯ weather has been brilliant about 25. Haven't done much at all, still getting breathless but on the mend. x
Oddly enough only 15 mins ago I said to my h the kiddies will be getting all excited & he said give over they'll have been & gone by now. Ha! Just love watching it all, bet it's lovely & quiet, not at all noisy!! Sounds like you've lovely weather, just a nice temp, just the job for recuperating. Hope your breathlessness improves still more. Enjoy it & take it easy. x
The hospital ran me Sunday re; ,my seizure, when i said i couldn't remember they spoke to hubby and the next thing i know we are on our way back down to the hospital, then they rang Xmas day as well this time to tell me i was to go to a clinic(no i can't say it let alone spell the clinics name) I found them to be very kind and caring.xxxx
Ditto. Dreadful year for me and the family. Im now looking forward as somethings will continue. Some times it harder than others but I remind myself of posirives when im struggling. Have a great time away....sure you will βΊ
