It has not stopped raining down here in cornwall. Some holiday, the only up side is i get my hubby to myself for two weeks. I have finally got my scooter back. It has cost me £150, but i have to say that the people doing it and the staff in the shop were very knd to me. While hubby went into the warehouse to see about the scooter i sat in one of the recliners,i nearly went to sleep. A lovely girl who worked there went and made me a cup of tea which was very nice of her.
We went into St. Ives this morning rained the whole time we were there. My scooter wasn't back then, so i had to walk. It was all i could do to drag myself back to the car. It was only sheer bloody minedness and tears that got me back. The good part of the trip was i aquirred two handbags and a pair of shoes. I paid for it when i got back. I haven't been able to move much. We have come over to the clubhouse as its the only place that has internet access. The terminal is right by the door to the garden and i am getting cold so i will finish this and go and get warm in bed i think.....

Well it's been that hot here in the north west, even the clouds were sweating.
At least you have your scooter back and you can race up and down them there hills lol, a bit of a rip off though getting these scooters fixed but at least your mobile again, enjoy what time you have left down there and don't forget to send everyone at the NRAS forum a lovely stick of rock, mmmmmm yummy
Hi guys and gals,, You will soon get your wish, but you might not like it! We here in the states, literally all but California and Hawaii, are in blazing hot weather, over 2 weeks of 90 and over 100 degrees, day after day!!! Monday, Tuesday and tomoprrow, : were 96,96 and 99 possibly 199 or more, just here in Northern Ohio on the shores of Great Lake Erie. A cool down is coming tho, Sat. will be only 88.! Along with that, our crops are drying up, wildfires are burning thousands of acres in Colorado as there is so little rain. Every 3 days we get severe thunder storms with high winds knocking down power lines, trees onto houses and cars. A bad storm last Friday evening left nealy half a million customers without eletricity, and tonight the town just west of me is still without electric. In all this heat. Schools, churches, factories all have opened to the public for those to get into the air conditioninfg. My a/c was out from Friday till just tonight at 5:00 It is still 85 outside at 12:38am Weds/
Send us some rain, we'll send you some sunshine. But I wouldn't wish this heat on my worst enemy (to my knowledge I don;t have any_) Loretxx

hahah that is 100, not 199! Typing in the dark!
Great news that you've got your scooter back. I can't believe how much the repair cost though, that's really shocking. It's been raining non stop here in miserable Wirral too but you just have to put on a waterproof coat and get out there. My dogs are hating their walks in it right now and my house has the lovely welcoming smell of wet dog!
Hi Sylvi, sorry weathers being so bad for you, hope it gets better for you for the rest of your holiday. Good you're mobile again with the scooter. How's the knee keeping up and are you sleeping better? Also how's your bronchitis has the change of air helped at all?
Got up this morning and it's been raining overnight here in north Kent although I think our weathers not been quite so bad over the past week as a lot of other places. It's rained at times but also been warm and sometimes we've seen the elusive sun! You remember that bright orange ball in the sky? Well, we have even seen that! It seems to have rained in London (if you've watched any tennis) but seems to have left us alone most of the time. Having said that I suppose it's sod's law what will happen now. It has however been extremely windy. Was sitting under the patio umbrella one day last week and the wind completely took the umbrella straight up out of the table and almost went over the fence to my neighbours, (wouldn't mind but their patio umbrella is better than ours!).
You take care and just enjoy the change of scenery if you can't enjoy the weather.

Sod's law did I say, just looked up and saw today's weather .............
HeHe! I'm in Kent as well, the other day I was walking along the high street and a gust nearly took me off my feet - now I can tell you that must have been a mighty strong gust of wind 'cos I am not a lightweight lady. It's been showery for the last few days and it looks like drizzle has set in for the day today, but we have got off lightly compared to other parts recently.
Enjoy the rest of you hols Sylvi - we are off tomorrow. Got mixed feelings as I am the only driver and it's around 250 miles each way - almost all motorways. Gonna be a stiff as a post by the time we get there!
Oh Silvi,
What a terrible shame! You look forward to a holiday, exhaust yourself getting there and then the weather ruins it!
I think that the NHS would make a lot of savings on their resources if they paid for us all to go to Spain for the winter.
I know! - we should have an NRAS hostel somewhere in the sun!!! How good would that be?
I'm glad that you got some handbag and shoe compensation though. I'm hoping that I'll be able to wear slightly nicer shoes once my ankle op is done. I was in a shop yesterday looking at some stuff and standing next to a married couple. Everytime the woman picked something up the husband said "would you like me to buy you that?" I couldn't understand it, he seemed to be annoying her. lol. I wanted to step in and say 'yes please' just to put him out of his misery. I'd have been doing him a favour - honest.
I'm glad you got your scooter sorted. Take good care.
Awwww Sylvia, I am sooo sorry it has rained the whole time you have been here, If it is any consequence (This is the wettest June in Over a Century) I know also it plays Havock on Joints, and your mood, Trust me I know, I would of loved nothing more than to sit in a nice deckchair on the Harbor front On a Beautiful Sunny Day, I hope this doesnt spoil your thoughts of coming back, Hopefully next time we will Have Sun and warmth xx
I am Really Glad that You have come down because Now I have had the pleasure of meeting you, and Making a Lovely New Friend XX
You are the compensation for coming lisa. Hope everything is well with you. We went to lands end today, might as well not bothered couldn't see much as it poured the whole time we were there. We did have our photo taken with our home name on the signpost, so that is something to prove where we have been.
Pleased you have your scooter back & as everyone says shame the weather has been so horrid. Its amazing how our holidays are precious as its time together with no interruptions even though you live together under the same roof at home!!
Roll on the sun coming out where ever you live. Take care of yourself.
Thank you everyone for being pleased for me in getting my scooter back. Strange how a little thing like that can screw the holiday up and please us so much when it is fixed. I do have to say the people have been lovely to me down here.
