Was diagnosed with RA Feb this year. Currently taking Plaquenil and methotrexate. Inflammation and pain continued so Dr added a course of Prednisone. I felt terrific but since completion of prednisone pain, stiffness and fatigue are returning. I'm currently on 7 tab of 2.5 mg per week. Is there hope?

Next step
Yes there's hope! It's hard to adjust to the time scales involved with this disease, but everything takes forever! It's still very early days for you, so don't despair. Prednisone is wonderful, but does tend to give you a rosy glow on life and make you feel miserable when you come off it. It took me a year to stabilise.
Keep asking your rheumy what else can can be done, and push to have your treatment reviewed.
What about biologics?
Of course. There are many options, and what's important to me is to work with/push your rheumy to find the best solution that works for each individual. For some biologics are wonder drugs, for others they are as much use as a smartie. Plus the fact that it's such a process to get them in the UK. There are 20 or so drugs available. One of them should be right for you.
