Can u get shingles twice if u had chicken pox and shingles

I feel for your friend but if you ask him to give a list of what he needs you could still do some shopping for him and explain why you are unable to spend time with him I'm sure he would understand and appreciate what you can do. I'm not sure if you can get the virus again but I wouldn't risk putting your own health in jeopardy. You could ask your Rheumy for advice.

Yes, you can have shingles more than once. Take care!

You can get shingles more than once but you can't catch shingles! When you have chickenpox the virus remains dormant in your body. If your body is stressed or immune system low it can flare up again.

I agree with above. I have had chicken pox as a child. Shingles in the past and twice this year. The virus stays in your system.
