PIP: It's has just taken me 3 hours to fill in the form... - NRAS
PIP
It took me 8 days! What a task!
Heck Liz what are you, Superwoman?! I'd to do mine over two days & that was too rushed, with all the additional writing it was becoming illegible, even I had trouble reading it back! Next time I'm only going to do a couple of hours a day.
I hope you hear back soon & you've not long to wait for your face to face appointment.
It took me 4 days as hand writing too painful and I didn't have anyone to complete the form for me.
Good luck with your application
Wish I could say that's the hard part over - if only! Wishing you the very best of luck Liz.
took me around 10 days to prepare my notes, then around 2 hours witha DWP home visiting team lady to actually fill it in
That was quick, took me a week.
It took me 3 weeks! It's the most awful task making you actually face things you had previously ignored.
What is a PIP? Is it a British medical form? I've seen it discussed before and have always wondered.
Thank you, nomoreheels! Here in the US there is long term disability, but you have to have worked long enough, paying for the benefit to be there if it was ever needed. I am just shy of being qualified as I was a stay at home mom, raising my three children until they were old enough not to need it. I went back to work for many years but then had to leave to become the full-time caregiver for my father who had late stage Alzheimer's and was completely immobile. He lived with us for 6 years and could never be left alone. Wouldn't have changed anything about my years of caregiving for young and old alike. I don't need the disability insurance now, but I am worried for the time when my husband retires. He will get Medicare at that point through the government. I am nine years younger than he, so I won't qualify for any governmental medical care until that point. I pray the good Lord keeps me strong for as long as possible then takes me quickly before I would need much more care.
I have often wondered if being proactive might be wise. For example, I know at some point I will need a total knee replacement on at least one knee. The other knee probably will last a little longer. My left knee is in really bad shape now. What do people doin these kinds of situations?
Thanks again for your response to my question. Sorry about rambling on so.
