Blue/purple joints during flare up!

Hi All

Just wondering if this is normal. When I get flare up in fingers/knuckles have noticed that particular area where flare up it goes a bluey/purpley colour. Is that normal? does anyone else get that?

Ahhh thank you glad am not the only one. 3 of my knuckles and 2 fingers on middle bones are that colour. Looks really dark blue and purple and just looks weird lol.

So appears to be quite common then! Feel better knowing isn't just me and my fingers are about to turn gangrene lol

I get that too and was wondering about it the other day. I was trying to think if I had smashed my fingers, or perhaps wasn't getting enough blood to them. Happens to the fingers that are hurting the most and then will fade as pain fades. Interesting. Guess that's our version of "red".

That is very interesting. I was starting to think they were bruises but like you said only the knuckles/fingers that are hurting and aching. Very strange! Seems like a new thing pops up with the blasted thing regularly 😞
