Just looking through the channels and noticed a documentary on tonight (Tuesday 4th) about restless leg syndrome. Looks a good watch at 10pm.
I get that sometimes - more at the start of my RA but it's a pain!

Now don't laugh at me when i say this please. Get a bar of soap any soap will do,take the wrapping off and put it between your bottom sheet and the mattress cover. It will help i can tell you, i my neighbour about it and she says it works as well. Yes i have a bar of soap in my bed.xxxxxxx
My husband get that - we call it "dancing legs" - I'm sure he's doing Riverdance in bed some nights! Anyway, taking magnesium can help or spraying magnesium spray on your legs can help too. My husband takes 500mg magnesium in the evenings and it's made a big difference to his "dancing "! Clemmie
I suffer terribly with RLS it's worse because of severe RA in my knees & feet! So frustrating because if you do one thing it hurts the other! Catch 22 really x
Just watched it on catch up. Pleased to see my neurologist on there. Thought it was interesting, showed the severity of it when many people laugh. But would have liked to see some treatments. I like many find the only thing to relieve it is to move or use my legs, but with fibro and chronic fatigue attached to Lupus its and endless cycle. Just started Gabapentin but not sure but it interacting with the Topiramate I take for seizures and migraine. Would be happy if anyone else has ideas. Soap..... where in the bed?
Dr L is my neurologist too. He recommended ropinirole but my cardiologist felt the side effects were too risky. I've had some improvement on gabapentin.
Yep my cardiologist said the same.
My Rheumy suggested Quinine for me. Initially I took the tablets but they were huge, like horse tablets. So then he suggested Tonic Water as it has Quinine in it. I've been taking one can a week for years now and it works for me. If I ever forget to take my can, a few days later the restless legs is back.
Interesting, I'm on hydroxychloroquinine for lupus, but not pure quinine.
No mention of any treatment i have tried a few things primapexal wrong spelling sorry is the only thing that works for me miss them for one night and i am climbing the walls horrible thing to put up with
Yes my mum and I both suffer from RLS, she takes Gabapentine but it doesn't really happen. I was disappointed not to see any mention of treatments available , just got upset to see how bad it could get, as mine is (I guess) quite mild compared to those in the documentary. Made me worried about how it might develop.
