Hi all, has anyone had an mcp joint replacement? Left hand index finger. How is movement etc afterwards? Particularly in relation to guitar playing.

Yes. I had mine done about 12 years ago. No pain at all now, but movement is a little stiff. I used to do cross stitch, but sadly can no longer do it. I am still very glad I had it done. Also, it has lasted a lot longer than my surgeon anticipated.

That's great to hear thankyou. I've read the new joints last 5-10 yrs depending on your activity. 12 sounds good. No pain sounds like another world!

Any guitar players out there rocking away with replacement joints?
