Anyone managed to get a joint injection since this virus kicked in? I'm desperate for a steroid in the knee while waiting for a replacement but keep being refused as apparently it will make me more vulnerable. I've tried arguing that as I'm shielding I feel it would be good time to have one as if I leave it until post lock down I will be more as risk, but still no luck.

Joint Injections
No luck here. Very frustrating as I've been really bad since the start of the year. Barely able to walk for long periods of time!
No my consultant warned me I would not be given one even if I had problems resulting from the postponement of my next infusion ☹️
Same here .. I usually have a steroid injection in my right knee every 8 months which works great then a baker cyst comes and restricts me, but can’t at the moment as they’re not doing them and I’ve postponed my infusion after a discussion with a general rheumy nurse .. not my biologics specialist .. who agreed due to infusion chairs not being two metres away in a new infusions ward and with it being an all day infusion, so not wise for me to go in. I’m shocked and baffled the hospital let this happen re the non compliance with distancing two metres??
Yes. I had one in each knee last Thursday done by my consultant.
I’m desperate for hips and elbows to be done , but I can’t see it happening till June time .
I’ve had 3 injections on 3 different occasions over the last 8-10 weeks. I pay private as I found everything on the NHS takes forever.
Out of interest, how much does it cost?
I’ve went to the same rheumatologist in two different places (a private clinic and his own place) costs ranged from about £350-400 all in depending on where you’re getting the injection. I know it’s cheaper if you’re getting a shot in the bum by the nurse for example as opposed to a joint. It’s worth it in my opinion as it only takes 2 or 3 days for an appointment.
