I have a compressed nerve at the base of my neck. It started last Summer about the same time as I had my first flare up and was treated by a great physio. I've been at home, fairly sedentary for the last 3 months and it has come back with a vengeance!
The reason I mention this is that I saw a list of RA symptoms on Pinterest this morning which includes 'compressed nerves' and wondered if anyone else had this problem?

They are very common, particularly as we age and if we are sedentary so I imagine it's consequential rather than directed caused by RA? Doesn't change them being painful tho'!
I use a an extremely good osteopath, as a few years ago I trapped a nerve in my neck and lost the use of my left arm and hand. It was so bad it did not hurt just numb, and unable to move fingers and arm just hung down. Very weird anyway had an MRI and not a stroke so consultant said it'll never get back to normal just live with it but my GP said try Mr ---- he is good I use him. Anyway after a lot of treatment hand and arm did return to normal, so my advice is try an Osteopath if you can afford one, they won't make it worse but can give pain relief and advice like keep mobile, etc, use frozen peas to relieve pain not heat and best of luck as ouch for you. xx
