Hope I get answers soon....

After 2 full days with hands being in pain, stiff, sore and dropping things I really hope the blood tests I had done Monday show something. I'm not sure if rheumatologist said he'll be in touch when he gets results back or if he's going to wait for ultrasound results aswell. Can't cope anymore, naproxen doing sod all, paracetamol...yeah well, been trying glucosamine gel but that hasn't touched it, I've even tried soaking hands in ice cold water again to stop the burning sensation but all it did was increase swelling which increased pain

Hi Ray--- I know that pain only too well. I'm a chiropodist and working was a nightmare. Someone recommend Pernaton gel and that helped a bit. I ordered it off Amazon. I also bought some gloves which helped a lot as I could wear them under my surgical gloves. I worried myself sick about the prospect of having to give up my profession , as a lot of my other joints were very sore also, but , on the whole, I am ok now.My consultant kept telling me there was nothing other that osteoarthritis going on--- until I insisted on a scan off my hands-- that showed massive inflammation and gave me a diagnosis of Rheumatoid Disease. Strange as it sounds I was glad to have confermation that there was something that could be controlled. The medication took a while to kick in but I can now do things that I thought I would never do again. I had got to the stage that I couldn't cut my own food up at mealtimes. Keep pushing for answers. ☺x
