The website plantbaseddoctors.org is useful for doctors to register their interest in advocating plant-based diets as part of a process of returning to health. Sadly the website has only one listing for the UK.

plant diet doctor
That's a shame. It would be good to know if there is a local doctor with an interest in promoting this. I have had great benefit from eliminating animal protein and dairy from my diet. I am now working with a nutritionist. She has some great ideas for supplements and anti inflammatory foods.
I do agree some plant can reduce the inflammation and pain. However, one should not replace the medication by plant-based diet. The medication is to suppress the immune system so that it would not attack our muscles around the joints and eventually erode our joints.
Also no supplement should be used to replace the medicine unless approve by your doctor. Also, no supplement to be taken unless your doctor approves it too.
Thank you. I agree completely. I am controlling my diet and taking supplements alongside conventional medical treatment- in my case sulfasalazine. My supplements have also been checked for possible interactions and my rheumatology consultant informed that I wanted to take them. Currently , the benefit from the diet change and supplements is at least as good as that from the sulfasalzine. As we all know, everyone is different but it definitely helps me.
I take juice plus plant based gluten and chemical free shakes and their nutritional supplements. Have to say feel whole lot better for it. Would recommend to anyone. If you want to know more then just ask.
