peripheral blood cells test

I had one of these yesterday after full blood test indicated mildly elevated white bloods. I know a consultant needs to see these first. Would I know by now if there was any serious problem

You should, but I think I would be inclined to make a phone call myself to check whether the consultant has seen the blood result, and what his instructions are.
