Magnetic bracelets

Hey all! Hope you all had a lovely Christmas. Been thinking of buying a magnetic bracelet, are they any good and where's the best place to buy one? Thanks Kirsty xx

Hi Kirsty,

I've seen a good few programmes/documentaries that have suggested they don't actually help with anything, it's made me think twice about them and have put me off buying one because there is no proof they do any good at all.

Each to THIER own though, good luck

Hello, yes I bought one (anything worth a try!) but it never worked for me though! In fact, I'll have a look for it in the morning (it's 3am and do t want to wake kids up!) if I can find it I could post it to you? It's a pretty one as well, more like a bracelet πŸ˜„

Like Phillip I saw reports stating they don't work but stranger thing happen! x

Years ago when I was particularly plagued with restless legs I bought wrap around magnetic wraps and used them for many years.

I found them immensely helpful as being the only thing to give me relief .

I know the medical evidence is to rubbish the use of magnets but honestly our bodies as vastly more complex than they or any one at the moment can understand.

There is a chance that they could work, they certainly would not cause you harm so why not.

Just research around and I do hope they do give you a bit relief.

X

Kristy anything is worth a try to help arthritis pain. One thing I hate having to do is popping alot of medication into myself the ease my pain with my arthritis. I'm now lookin into devices that may help me better when mine is really bad. I have osteo and so far mine has been pretty agressive, plus the pain for me has been unbearable at times as,well. Not alot is helping with my symptoms other than just relaxing. Moving around makes mine act up in a big way. Especially on damp rainy days. I'm not sure what else 5o do with mine as,of right now. Take care J. Quinn

Nothing wrong with a placebo if it seems to work. Is incredible what the mind can do. I've been wearing one since I was diagnosed age 15 , took it off for a couple of weeks and the RA went wild. Could've been a coincidence but I haven't liked to put that to the test since .....

If you have skinny wrists like me, big craft fairs are the places to find dinky bracelets.

I took part in a double blind trial of magnetic bracelets. I didn't know if I had one and neither did the researcher as the bracelets were wrapped in identical packaging. I then kept a record of my symptoms. It was only, for me about eight months as I then had a major flare and dropped out of the trial - my hands were so painful I didn't even like filling in the daily record! So whether I had the active bracelet or non-active, it didn't work. Later I heard the results and although there were some people who improved, there was no significant difference between the two groups.
