Where to buy natural supplements
I get mine from Asda
I use Healthspan. They are on line from the Channel Islands and have quality products and reasonable prices and don't charge postage. If you ever go to Jersey, they have a shop in St Helier!! I steer clear of Holland & Barrett. Wherever, you look you should always compare the ingredients as some of the cheaper ones have lots of added things instead of just the product you want.
Beware of "cheap natural" supplements .............Holland & Barratt seem to have staff who know what they are talking about supplement wise...why not have a chat with one them?
Cheap supplements can have fillers & the last thing one needs with an auto immune disease is to take unsafe pills.
Nature's Best .........online.......is really good .
I find amazon cheaper than stores
Before you take any supplements, even if they are natural ones, please check with your specalist nurse if it is ok to take them along with your medication. Don't take the advice from a shop assistant. xx
Have a word with your Rheumy, sometimes they're in the know on the ones which will be helpful for you specifically & those not so, particularly important as you're starting biologics (or have started?).
No pills are natural. The word Natural Supplements are a gimmick. True natural supplements are found in your garden for example, garlic, tumeric etc.
Do not buy from Holland and Barrett the BBC outed them for misleading information as in evening primrose had none in it. And if you thinking of Vit D then its illegal to buy in any quantity that makes a difference. I'd suggest talk to your GP who will do a blood test and if you need them get on a prescription. Some do interact so its better to be safe than sorry. St Johns Wort for example is a bad one for interactions even with Antibiotics.
I get mine from Vitabiotics, they are three for two and cheaper than supermarkets. I take Menopace Night (authorised by my rheumatologist!)
