Hiya I had a Reclast infusion five months ago and have had recurrent head pains ever since has anyone else found this ? hope you are all doing ok ,Maggie

Hi sun_flower,

I believe Reclast is normally used for osteoporosis however I'm sure a lot of people on HU have that in addition to their RA so hopefully they can comment further. Headaches are listed as one of the side effects of Reclast however I would suggest checking with your GP or rheumatologist if you are concerned at all.

Hiya Maggie. This is something I've been 'told' to prepare for if my latest DEXA scan reveals I qualify so I'm guessing as it's listed a a common side effect it's a regular occurrence? I suffer intermittent headaches anyway so not keen on possibly having more to contend with I must say! I was also informed by my Rheumy that I could very well have an intense period of suffering the same side effects as I've had on the two oral bisphosphonates I've tried, my main reason for questioning where I go from here.

thanks nomoreheels,I reckon they are down to the infusion,I might not have another one I will have to consider it,its really difficult I worry about haveing to have dental work done,I dont know how long it stays in the system for but I am a born worrier anyway,best wishes with your decision[Maggie

I to had a Replast infusion about a week ago...had a terrible headache(still do) and felt like I had the flu for at least 3 days, also upset stomach and muscelpain...don't think I want to do it again

Hello l had two a year apart and was due for a 3rd last year but my kidneys had deteriated quite a lot and as my bones had impoved the consultant didn't recommend another l now have CKD stage 3 the Reclast is not a pleasant thing to have and it also affects any dental work needed luckily l didn't but think hard the 1st one l had a terrible headache and flu like symptoms but the 2nd was fine good luck
