How have received a letter saying I need to have a ultrasound injection in August, I've never heard of this has anybody had one, I see my rheumy on weds so was gonna ask them about it was just curious to what it entailed gentle hugs xx

I think it just means an injection that's guided by ultrasound, so they get it in the exact place in your knee.
Usually when you have a steroid injection the have to guess where to get to. With the ultrasound they will ba able to pin point where the steroid goes so you get a better result hopefully Don't worry....it'll be fine xxx

Yes, its a fairly standard type of procedure for guiding injections into exactly the right place in joints. Much more chance of success than just a stab in the dark.
I've had an ultrasound guided steroid injection into one of my knees - I found it less painful than I normally find steroid injections and to be perfectly honest I've had blood tests that were more painful.
