Hot flushes

Sulfasazine..

Is anyone else on this having hot flushes? I'm supposed to take 4 a day along with everything else I take but was suffering 24/7 nausea so doctor has reduced to 3 for now, nausea has reduced but still getting the flushes, any info or advice gratefully received 😊 thank you x

Hi, yes I am, will be 55 this year! also on HRT but not sure if new meds are counteracting that or causing a separate symptom so decided to ask on here 😊

I will also be 55 this year. I am not on HRT, but I do take 6 sulphasalazine each day and I do suffer badly from hot flashes. Will bring this up on my next rheumy appt. tomorrow.

I am 53 and on HRT and did find that sulfa intensified hot flushes, especially during the night and this greatly affected sleep (only 2-3 hours sleep). Since coming off sulfa (due to other side effects) my sleep has improved, I still over heat but it settles down much quicker and I can get back to sleep.

Hi. Just saw your post. I have not had menopausal problems at all and do have flushes on SSF which is on a high dose 2000mg daily. I get a very red face when tired or emotional or if in the sun for any amount of time. It does feel like over heating on occasion, jacket on, jacket off, then cold, jacket on! Definitely SSF in my experience but not too bad a side effect it feels.

Thank you for replies 😊 going by comments it seems more likely to be SSF rather than interacting with HRT. Would be interested to know what your consultant says tomorrow wannabehealthy, I'm not due back to mine for another six weeks.
