I wouldn't call your nights normal! You must have a very fit dog, too.

Hope it was nice. It looks lovely outside but I'm happy to be inside!

Hi Matt,

I hope the walk does the trick for.

Ali

PS my physio the other day mentioned something called 'the pain gate'.... I haven't quite got an handle on what it means for me but it's based on the notion that there are two kinds of stimulation and non painful stimuli can close the pain gate thus making our pain less pronounced (all be it on a temporary basis). There is also something about the focus we place on our pain that influences it's intensity and the theory is if the focus changes then the nature of the pain can change- someone out there might know more about this and how it works but I think maybe your walking is offering a different focus to the chronic pain you are currently experiencing thus easing it for you... Now I'm waffling :)

Makes sense to me Ali and exercise releases seratonin or is it endorphins? Something good is released anyway which helps pain. I love to walk and sometimes go out when my feet are bad just to get out of the house and get some air.

Now no making snow angels on your wanderings tonight Matt, Indy will be all over you!! Seriously, I hope it doesn't come to that & you've worn yourself out enough to get a good few hours. Have you considered taking something to help you nod off or is that not an option with your cocktail or other breathing issues? My lovely GP prescribed amitriptyline to help my headaches coming from my neck & I've been getting unbroken sleep for a good while mostly now, wondering if something similar could be a help pro tem? It must be harder to deal with the pain being so shattered.

Well, fingers crossed he manages to contact them, it's out of your hands now. I hope last night was a little better for you.

Hi Matt

Still no word from the hospital?

Did Indy not mind the snow on her paws?

Hi KiKI, Nothing yet there was a fire at that part of the W.G.H. Hospital in Edinburgh two weeks ago so there is a backlog, Indy just loves it then she licks the snow from her Paws after she rolls about in it. matt

in reply tomattcass

A fire? Oh no. I was born at the wgh. Glad Indy likes the snow.
