I'm still waiting for my assessment since November, not heard a thing
Pip: I'm still waiting for my assessment since November... - NRAS
Pip
its a joke I have been through the same ,applied in oct 2013 had medical assessment feb2014 got turned down 5th june 2014 still waiting for them to look again and I have sent them more doctors letters they said that would take 7 week rang yesterday and they say another4 weeks ,if that get turned down it could take up to a year to hear an appeal ,I could cancel and start again but would loose the on going claim I was 2point short of claim I will keep going,
Its a big joke this pip.sent mine Feb n waiting on decision and bin told they may not even back date the claim. I think that we'll all just give in & get on with it . So frustrating. Good luck with urs xx
Nope I'm not anyway, why should we? It was put in place for people who struggle daily & need help with those struggles. I still haven't received my application form which I requested the second week in April & am starting the ball rolling for independent intervention & questioning why the delay.
If the DWP had every intention from the get go to refuse all claimants at first assessment I want answers to questions to that effect so came to the decision if I wasn't proactive & attempted to find out I at least tried. Otherwise how would I know for my own case & is there any point pursuing further? I would be interested to learn specifically if claimants who currently receive DLA & are being reassessed for PIP are also being refused. My understanding is as of April only 34,200 claimants of 220,300 who applied, so 15.4%, have been given a decision, that is decision - not awarded. These figures do not include the Special Rules applications (terminally ill) where 100% were awarded PIP. I don't have any reliable figures for those claimants who have attended appeal tribunals & been successful so would be equally interested to learn what percentage of those who have appealed the initial decision have been eventually awarded PIP & if it was indeed backdated, as I have been assured mine will be by 4 different DWP employees, if successful that is.
Sorry I ranted to your reply - sore point made worse by sore body!!
Hello, have you tried ringing ATOS? I called them yesterday and asked if they had any cancellations. I said I was prepared to travel. This is the third time I've rung them. Luckily they had one in 2 weeks' time. It is in a town 1 and a half hours away from where I live but I was desperate (applied in December), so went for it. The person I spoke to said she had no idea when there would next be free appointments in my area and they could pay my travel expenses. Hope this is useful.
they told me on a number of occasions that if the claim was successful it would be backdated but they will say that if they turn most people down ,I wonder if this pip is being fazed out why don't they just say so and that would save all this upset .I wonder what happens when they look again at your claim that takes 11 weeks to do are people getting a fair deal my mp told me people get it awarded on appeal we will have to see my out come I will keep you posted ,
Its just so bloody frustrating that we have to prove to these people wat we have to go through day in day out!!!!! I no people who are still on DLA, there out doing the garden looking after kids during day 2 holidays abroad and apparently carnt walk to the gate without falling!!!!!! Grrrr...Francherry, I had someone from Capita not atos maybe that's reason for waiting time for assessment. I rang again yesterday and was told could be 4 weeks after receiving report, so still waiting. I'll keep you posted hopefully with good news, I'm not holding my breath though xx have a gentle day all xx
I submitted my application in October 2013 and I have my assessment this week....what a joke and how frustrating! It so happened that my appointment came through after I had complained, have you been able to do this? I am hoping I will be back dated but we will see, I am worried about the assessment as I felt the questions on the form didn't particularly lend me to talk about my struggles.
Hope you get yours sorted
