Hi, does or has anyone ever suffered from a swollen f... - NRAS
Hi, does or has anyone ever suffered from a swollen foot (just one) on top of foot, just below the start of the toes?
Yes Mags it can be quite signicant as that's where RA swelling tends to be rather than joints nearer the toe which is often osteoarthritis I believe xx
Yes, that's exactly what I had and it was my first symptom. It foxed the docs for a while, twice they looked for blood clots in my legs then tried a referral to rheumatology as a last resort. When the rheumatologist took an mri it showed up the effects of RD on some of the joints in my foot - until then RD hadn't been a consideration. It's been the same ever since, one foot is normal size but the other one is always swollen on top.
Of course, that's just my experience, there could be other reasons for such a swelling so it's worth getting it checked out.
I agree with having it checked out too. Swollen extremities can be a sign of other health probs.
This is very similar to me & underneath my feet was very painful. I was waddling like a duck my h used to say. GP was convinced it was RD when she examined them, even though I had no other signs I knew of, & did RF test.
Yes. So painful! It makes wearing shoes a nightmare. My feet are very swollen ATM.
Sorry to hear that crashdoll maybe not helped by the warmer weather. Have you tried all the usual things to help the swelling? Yes, it does make wearing shoes a nightmare & I've resorted on the whole to velcro fastening ones. The trouble is I struggle sometimes if I need to release them a bit as my hands aren't too grippy! We can't win can we?
