I am having trouble continuing work due to my arthritis, who would be best to help me.

I am waiting to hear from my RA specialist nurse to get a appointment with Occup health but I dont know how long I will have to wait, in the mean time struggling to cope, I have also been waiting 2 months to see a councillor through my GP and still waiting . I dont get paid if I dont work really need an income as my husband is supporting us on his own debts mounting, any help and advise appreciated.

Contact the CAB as they can help you to see if there are any benefits which you may be eligible to apply for. They can also help you to apply. They are very good. Clemmie

Apply for PIP. You may get it even at the lower rates its worth having. Also check out if your intitled to other benefits. I to are questioning my job. Who did you contact for occupational health intivew do you have a number

It depends a bit what you do and whether you can get help from human resources. It sounds as though going part time wouldn't be a good option unless you can get benefits to cover a bit. Cab is a good idea. So sorry you're having this problem.

I work with young disabled children, so run off my feet. I will look at CAB, and many many thanks, this sites very informative.

Unfortunately I had to give up my job due to RA. It was heavy work and long hours. In the meantime I went back to college and studied IT and got a desk job and continued working until nearing my retirement. I loved working. May even go back to doing some voluntary work now that my RA is under control. Margot11
