Enbrel and severe Reflux.

I have just started Enbrel but my nights are disturbed 2 or 3 times due to terrible reflux and pains in my chest, but if I have a drink of milk it seems to go away, just wondered if anyone else has had this sort of disturbed nights ??

Nothing like this has happened to me for the past two years with Enbrel but that's not to say what you are going through is ok. I would contact your medical team just in case.

I am not on enbrel anymore, but I do get heart burn everynight...I take gaviscon. But, a very useful thing I read about is dont lie on your right side, as you get it worse, something to do with where the stomache is...I tried it, and it does work as soon as you turn over.

Hi , I got tummy protector from my GP, when I first started dmards. Idid get awful heartburn from them and the lansoprazole really helped. It didnt get worse with Enbrel. Just check out with GP your symptoms though xx

Could it be an anti-inflammatory medication causing the reflux? I say this as whilst taking Naproxen for a short period of time I had gurgles and heartburn which went when I stopped taking it.

you do need to see your GP and get some kind of stomach protecting medication. Left untreated for too long, reflux can lead to a lot of other problems.

Thank you all for your replies, I have been to my GP and now have Omoprazol daily.
