weight loss
Hi yes I did when when my RA wasn't managed well /active. I think it is quite common- combination of your body being in lots of pain and the RA being active and using up energy. Are you newly diagnosed and waiting for a rheumatologist appointment? Best wishes.
hi thank for your reply I was diagnosed in October had a few steroids injections due to see a rheumatologist again in june they are going to try mxt next but I am not sure I want that, still wish it was just a bad dream and when I wake up it will all be gone, not like me to think this way usually hit things head on its.been a bad year2013 husband died lost house due to bedroom tax then hit with ra in October after a few years of pain u.ps sorry to moan the weight loss just made me wonder
you poor thing, you really have had a bad time. my heart goes out to you. physical as well as emotional pain is just so very hard to live with. you will loose weight until your disease is put under control then you will level out. i'm so sorry your life is in such turmoil. just keep moaning on here as much as you need to.....we all know only too well what you are going through. my partner of 7 years walked out on me not long after i was diagnosed. said he couldn't cope with the change of lifestyle, which was great i have to say. it was awful at the time but when my disease was managed i found i was able to cope with all the other things i had in my life. a lot of them i just stopped worrying about. this disease has a way of putting things into perspective for you. i wish you all the very best lucinda. Hi I've always been 81/2 stone for many years then when I became poorly and was diagnosed with ra couple of years ago...I've found it very hard to keep my weight above 8 stone...i went down to 71/2 stone few months ago and my legs are disappearing and my face is alot thinner...so yes I would blame my health issues for my weight loss...I eat a healthy diet and can eat from morn until night...and find it very hard to gain weight...I would love to put weight on my legs and face as I look poorly....hope you get sorted....
thanks for your reply we have hit on a great diet fix get ra lol
Sounds as if you've had an awful lot on your plate, you're doing well to keep it together!
Hopefully you will find that when life is more settled, your weight will stabilise.
Wish I had the same problem, with all the medication my weight went sky high, and for the first time in my life I had to diet. I could still do with losing a few pounds!
Hope you soon feel better, we all need a moan sometimes. M x
I've found the more active my RA the lower my appetite. My knees are really bad now and I have to force myself to eat anything, I just don't want it. I've lost 9 kg since June last year but most of that was weight I had put on from a course of pred. xx
I sort of wish that my RA has caused weight loss - I've gained weight
