My R.A. is mostly under control, but the tendons on the back of hands are painful all the
time. A wax bath does not help. Has anyone got any tried and tested tips.? With Thanks.

Hi is your RA really under control, it sounds like damage could be happening??
Hi, Thanks for your reply. I can get around on Humira, but hands don't seem
to respond to the treatment. I was wondering if anyone else had the same prob.
I too have painful tendons but usually around my wrists. I use ice to help as I didn't get too much relief from my wax bath either. Other than that it's down to tablets !!
Hi, Thanks for your reply, I am going to give ice a try.
I have had cortisone injections near base of thumb, very painful procedure but worth it because the relief from pain is wonderful. I was also given splints which I wear if I am resting (they get in way when doing jobs), and I got myself some soft support gloves which I find fantastic, really do soothe and support the hands. I have been seeing a very good hand/wrist surgeon and he has now decided I need surgery on my left hand so I am presently waiting for that. Hope this helps, lynda x
Hi Lynda, Thanks for your reply. I was offered surgery but I can't do the 3 month recovery time as I am a carer.
Can you say where got the gloves, I'd like to give them a try . Sheila x.
I have very swollen hands my middle fingers on both hands being the worst I find the isotoner gloves which are for arthritis very good you can get them from Job Skin there address is on the web not cheap £29 there about but what's price when they help to reduce the pain in your fingers hope you are able to find them
Acupuncture was a big help to me. Laser treatment has been known to help as well.😊l
