Recently contacted my Insurers, HSBC, who have advised that anything related to my Wengers Vasculitis would not be covered if I travelled abroad

Does anyone know of anyone that would cover this as a pre-existing medical condition

Hello

With it effecting veins and arteries also your lungs, ears and kidneys you may have problems with this immune system condition . You could do a search on the net as there are companies that deal with conditions. Also you could try if a pensioner over fifty five SAGA they may help

Several years ago I had gallstones removed and now have to mention that, even my condition I suffer from has to be mentioned so they only want people with 100% health it seems.

Sorry that is all I can suggest

I've found that quite a few travel insurers will cover pre-existing conditions. it just costs more! Look at this Which report for ideas

I use All Clear travel insurance which asks questions about your pre existing illnesses and then gives you a quote to cover them. Ive arranged insurance with them both over the phone and online without any problems. I've never been turned down yet. I haven't had to claim so can't tell you if there are any problems regarding claims. Clemmie

I live in Canada and travelled to Europe in 2010 - I have RA over 25 yrs and I got travel insurance with no problems. The only stipulation they said was that I had to be on the medication I'm on for over 6 months to be able to be covered. I know it greatly depends on where you live about getting travel insurance.

I use Insure and Go, will cover pre existing conditions, even cancer!

Expensive but not excessive. (And I'm not on commission!)

Hi there

I have always used insure & go. They ask an awful lot of questions, but have always provided cover at a premium, which I didn't consider too bad. Except for Canada and US. That really was a premium to make your eyes water. Made a claim three years ago, their idea of exchange rates is very different from reality of what I'd paid. So it shows that even they know how to boost their profit margins. But no hassle in settling up. Good luck!
