Does anyone have any recomendations on where to get travel insurance from ? I always used to get it through my bank but they won't insure me anymore because of my RA, I've also not long ago had knee replacement surgery so this may have gone against me too.

I've been getting quote after quote for the past 2 hours and have found admiral to be the best, infact their quote was far better than any other. I've got 14 day cover for £33.26 which included my RA, high blood pressure and I also declared my surgery was only a few ago and that I'm due surgery again in September. Give them ago !

I emailed NRAS and they were very helpful. Couldnt recommend one specific place but did suggest a list that other people with RD had used. Was a very good starting place. We now have insurance after being declined by a number of places we had previously tried.

I've been on compare the market, and for 5 days incl declaration of RA starts as little as £13 for a couple, they asked all the right questions that you would expect, and if you get through compare the market, you will get meerkat movies cinema discount for a year!!! Hope this helps x

If you are over 50, I found Saga to be good with existing illness travel insurance

Hi Kerry,

Ive always had it through my bank too and when I got my RA diagnosis I phoned them and had it added to my existing conditions. It's very short sighted if they are now saying no. I remember them asking if I had any joints replaced, I wonder if it's your knee surgery that made them run scared.

Hope you get a good quote and enjoy your travels.

Hi we use saga you have to be over 50 though. There was no problem when I was diagnosed with ra just have to be honest about everything. Guess knee surgery shouldn't be a problem either. Good luck.

RA does'nt affect travel insurance in my case but Pernicous Aenemia did by £200 a year.

I got mine from coverwise. Multiple trips for one year cost less than £50: . I declared all my meds and two joint replacements. I don't have any other issues though only the RA.

I got annual multi trip insurance from Stay Sure for £33. three weeks ago. I have hip replacements, knee replacement and have had breast cancer. I have RA, PA and OA. I also have other health problems. However they were extremely helpful and I disclosed everything. Good luck, hope you have a great holiday.

I'm with the Bank and have been for several years. As always, I phoned to check but it had changed, and just for my illness they wanted a further £67 however, they would insure me without paying this extra, but cover would not include anything associated with RA???
