Hello

We meet again, the injections are no real problem. If you are using an insulin pen it will be easy for you. If I can manage it, you will I am a born wooss with needles.

You will need to watch contraindications when taking MTX and Steriods.

All the best

MTX doesn't come in a pen form in the UK, so needles and syringes I'm afraid. But it's subcutaneous, so very small needles thankfully! If you're in another country then you might be able to get it in a pen.....but a step too far for the NHS. Polly

The needles are usually separate from the syringe, but easy to put into position. I got a nurse come to go through it with me the first time, so don't worry. Don't forget to 'pinch an inch' before injecting. Only with me it was more like a foot than an inch!!

Hi netbuddy

I've just started with a needle but my nurse told me their is a pen hopefully being introduced for us about April next year.

I'm not sure how it all compares to the insulin pens I'm afraid though sorry but I'm a woss but have managed thankfully OK so far.

Injected in my leg tonight for the first time, thought tummy needed a break even though I have more fat there.

I didnt realise it was different in different countries... I am in Australia so Im still not sure but at least I know there is a pen now.

I feel bad for people not used to injecting - I am on insulin minimum of 3 times a day so I dont have a problem with needles but I was just wondering about ease of use and all the gear I will have to take with me when I go away.

Yes its a good idea to change sites or the area can become thickened and fibrosed.

needles and syringes that are delivered by BUPA every few weeks! They also supply the sharps bins, plasters and gloves etc! The syringes are already filled with the correct dosage, so just put the needle on then inject in the tummy! It's pretty easy once you've been shown how :) good luck I'm sure you'll be fine :) xx

I have to load medicine using a needle and syringe- it is difficult due to inflammation in wrists and hands, but I stay determined and I don't give up. Stay positive and good luck!

I had a chart and four injection points left abdomen, right abdomen, left thigh and right thigh. I had to alternate them so that the same spot did not get used for 3 weeks.

Hi inject methotrexate and in my last delivery was a leaflet and they are changing to a pen which will be a lot easier especially if you don't like needles x
