Silver finger splints anyone?

Does anyone out there have experience , good or bad of the silver finger splints. If so, had they previously had finger splints from OT. My fingers are beginning to turn so I'm wondering whether to make an appointment with OT, or go for the pretty silver splints. Any comments appreciated.

hi...i have recently had the ot plastic splints for 3 fingers and they are great...really make a differnce and they arent very noticable also they can heat and bend to fit perfectly....have looked at the silver ones but are very costly and wonder if they would be as comfortable being hard metal....let us know if you try the silver ones and if they are any good xx

I think I'll contact OT first to see if she thinks it would helpful for her to make up finger splints first. Less costly!

Hi Case, I had 3 Silver finger splints about 25 years ago, shortly after I was in college. They made grooves in my fingers, and turned greenish, and 2 of them got worn and then broke within about a year. Unfortunately, I don't feel that they really helped me much at all. They are a great conversation starter though-I educated lots of people about RA!
