smoke free today! Almost forgot about it until heard the date on the radio! I am keeping good and also approaching 3 years alcohol free in November and slowly but surely getting fitter this year.
If someone had of said I would be in this mindset and living this lifestyle 8 years, ago, I would have told them not a chance, as enjoyed that old lifestyle too much. But this life now by FAR outweighs the old Roisin!!
Hope all the oldies and newbies are keeping well?

Hi Roison, Still without the poison. as you're off the grog I will have a dram to toast your 8 year victory thus keeping your feathers clean. I missed my 5 yr post but still without the fags and have finally started on the obesity. Another slow job, sewing the buttons back on my shirts. I'm not a good sewer so good I am not losing fast hahaha. Maybe the day will come when I can connect the buttons with the button holes again. Fat is the new thin anyway haha. I am still digging holes and the garden is starting to produce once again. Still only have 9 grandkids. Lost another 4 family members and a few mates since my last post sadly but, that is part of life. So all you other quitters stay strong, cause once you've stopped and your heart aint popped, you'll find it better to keep moving along.
Hey dugahole . thank you for your customary witty reply Congratulations to you too on 5 years. I hear ya with the shirt buttons, can pop off in seconds but takes time to sew them back on securely!!
Sorry to read about the passing of some more members of family and friends, think you reach a certain age (48) that parents are leaving my extended family and friends sadly. Since my Dad died last December, I have a completely different perspective on life and appreciation that it is so short so taking stock to stay here as long as I can.
Good to hear from you Roisin. When I read you passed another year, I know I am just 2 weeks behind. All good here. No regrets from the sometimes trying first year.
Happy Holidays to all my old friends who helped me quit and to the newbies. For those have not yet decided to rid themselves of the poison, make a commitment for Jan 1st, or before. If it doesn't click right away, try again. Eventually it works unless we stop trying.
