Hi, has anyone used nicorette quickmist and experienced anxiety with it? Maybe it's just my imagination.
Quickmist : Hi, has anyone used nicorette... - No Smoking Day
Quickmist
Quickmist is a vile and nasty substance that is highly addictive, my partner and I gave up smoking in January initially we were using patches combined with the quickmist. The problems started not long after we finished our course of patches. We would get anxiety attacks all the time when we were using it but horrible withdrawal symptoms when we tried to abstain from using it. Sweats, chills, insomnia and really strong urges to have another spray . In the end we kicked it cold turkey with the help of Nordic Spirit nicotine mouth pouches. They seem to work for us and much less addictive than the spray, not sure what they put in that quickmist to make it so nasty. Do yourself a favour and try and get off the stuff it made us feel like junkies, I am so glad my body doesn't need that stuff anymore.
I rang the nhs stop smoking helpline to try and explain to them that i have a problem with it. He basically told me it's my imagination and i can easily stop it as i quit smoking and the spray has 'far less' nicotine in it than cigarettes. But i swear I'm more addicted to the spray than i was cigarettes! I've tried cutting back but i turn into a monster! There is something wrong with it. But I'll have a look at those things you tried. Thanks for your reply.
I smoked for 20 years. Gave up and was on Quickmist for 2 years. Quickmist is the most addictive substance I’ve ever known. I was anxious all the time, constantly withdrawing and craving more spray. I would wake in the morning with a jolt as my stomach lurched into anxiety before reaching for the Quickmist spray. I sought therapy for my anxiety, believing it was mental illness. One day I lost my spray (on purpose as to be honest I would leave a Quickmist spray everywhere , in my bed, my bag, the car , anywhere I might be) and I gave it up. After 24 hours I went into extreme withdrawals. Headaches, sleep, starving, blurred vision, depression, and anxiety. I had to go to bed. I was sick, ill. After 4 days I thought I could not take it anymore. After a week, I started to feel better … now I am 3 months on. My anxiety has gone completely. I never have it anymore! So yes, I believe Quickmist causes anxiety .
That's amazing that you stuck at it. The guy from the helpline just gave me another helpline number for anxiety 😆 (which i appreciate) but he said the anxiety is my mental health and definitely not coming from the spray. I'm going to have to try to quit soon, it's so expensive too. I just don't know why it's so addictive compared to other products.
In my experience, the Quickmist causes terrible anxiety. That anxiety is a continual underlying withdrawal from the nicotine. But then I was so very addicted, by 2 years in I was spraying every half an hour. Each spray is 1mg nicotine which is really one whole cigarette in one hit.But think of stopping as one week of pain requiring life to stop as it could make you sick as it did me (yes it is cold turkey withdrawals) for long term enormous gain!!
anyone else experiencing anxiety becuase of quick mist spray ?
