Hey reader2019 , the stimulant in caffeine triggers severe triggers for nicotine if you are/were a smoker. Also even if you never smoked can bring on nasty anxiety attacks.

Hi thanks for your info. Is this because a lot of smokers smoke while they have coffee. I had been an outside smoker for 25 years and never had my coffee outside while I smoked. I still have my coffee in the morning. But now I am wondering if it will be something I will have to watch for once I am done the champix. May time to switch to decaf.

For me anyway I stopped coffee completely when I stopped smoking, only would have 1 cup a day first thing in the morning but that one cup brought on severe cravings and anxiety.....

Oddly enough, I was fine with alcohol 😯

Smoking dulls the effect of caffeine. So it can make you quite shaky and anxious and interfere with sleep.
