Hi gang; I'm back from my 3 weeks in Costa Rica and not once did I feel tempted to smoke. This really pleased me, since I've always associated smoking with the leisure of vacations and drinks. I kept my drinks to 3-4 per day. Only one night I had 5 drinks. I was more concerned about not overeating. Luckily the menus in Costa Rica had a lot of fish and good salads. I can't decide what I loved more about CR. The nature (jungle, beach, mountains) or the wildlife. On a daily basis I saw 3 diff species of monkeys or crocs, sloths, toucans, and macaws. We zip lined and did a horseback tour to a waterfall. It was all spectacular. Then ...
... two weeks in, our locked car was broken into while we were en route to a new destination. We were robbed of passport, all ID, cell phones, cash. We went to the embassy to get our emergency travel documents. I won't go into any more detail, but suffice it to say this caused stress. Yet, despite this stress, I did not smoke. After 2 days home, I've already purchased my new cell phone and got most of my ID replaced. I will definitely visit that lovely country again. Theft happens everywhere. But the best part is I didn't gain any weight. Onwards and upwards for all of us, as we stake our claim in living clean!
