I made it to day 12. Yesterday was the first time in a week that I had a conscious craving. It came out of the blue. I had just checked into a hotel for a business trip. Normally, I would take my things up to my room and then head outside for a smoke. And that's exactly what my brain directed me to do. Of course, I didnt do that and opted instead for a short walk to check out the neighborhood. The moment passed without pain, but it was also bizarre to recognize how deeply ingrained these habits are.
Anyway. Almost 2 weeks now. The longest I've made it without a chaperone (someone around who serves as a source of shame) since 2011. I feel free. Not to mention my skin looks better, the dark circles under my eyes seem to have disappeared overnight, my eyes are brighter, and everything tastes sweeter!

You have so much to look forward to and many 'firsts' that you will encounter where you would have smoked or associated with smoking, for example, first Christmas, birthday, wedding, funeral, summer, bbq, lawn cut but once you overcome these 'firsts' it will be so much easier the next time .
