First non smoking Birthday in more than 20 years.

So I’m sitting here back at the hotel I love in Lake Garda in Italy thinking back to last July/August when I was by the pool armed with my Alan Carr no smoking book, this Healthunlocked website reading everything in the no smoking forums, Champix and sheer determination!!!!! Lol. Almost 10 months on & my Birthday around the corner, I’m gobsmacked that I now sit here again by the pool, spritz in hand BUT as a non smoker.🍹🍹 I have not had one single puff of a ciggy or cheated in any way in all that time. Smoking is actually the furthest thing from my mind...... This upcoming Birthday will be my first in more than 20 years as a non smoker & I couldn’t be happier. Thank you all for your support & I can’t wait to go to the penthouse Roisin. 😀😀

Great to hear from you Sparkle11 - wow, time is really passing by so quickly, seems no time ago since your first post with the picture of you and your lovely doggie Massive congratulations and look forward to having you in the Penthouse but don't think it will have a patch on Lake Garda, wow, I am so jealous that you live in Italy, it is my favourite place in the world, been all over it throughout the years since we got married, went to Rome on honeymoon and fell in love with it, been back there 3 times, to Milan, Venice, Naples, Sorrento, Positano and finally Florence. We done a day trip to Lake Como and Lake Garda, I will never forget arriving to the lakes, it was just heavenly, off to look up our next Italian holiday now!!

Thank you Roisin. My adorable pitbull doggy Cha died back in October. 😢 A huge loss but even then, the furthest thing from my mind was smoking. Incredible! Before , I couldn’t even make a phone call without a ciggy. Happy you know Italy fairly well. Keep in touch for your next trip. I’m in Milan. Love to buy you an aperol spritz to say thanks for your support 🍹🍹😀

Ah sorry to read about your doggy, I can't imagine the loss, I am relatively new to being a pet owner of a King Charles - Charlie, have him over a year and he is almost a year and a half old, I really could not imagine life with him and have grown so close to him...

I'm coming up for my 2nd smoke free anniversary. I really noticed the change when it came to holidays too, no more cramming ciggs in before you go through security, no more rushing to get cases so you can get outside for a smoke. Like you, I never think of cigarettes, I find smoking quite repulsive now. I smoked for nearly 30 years, I am so proud of myself.
