I cannot recommend this community enough, even though I am over 2 years on in my quit, I have got so much support and advice on other things going on in my life, it is an honest, caring and close net group who look out for each other which is invaluable when we quit smoking

I,m taking a guess, many are reading this and thinking, if only, I’m not strong, been smoking for ever, it’s what I do, well I have news, the news is your reading this wondering what quitting is all about, well give it ago, you never know until you try, so come join this wonderful group, who will without judgement hopefully make quitting easier, in my early days all I wanted was a fag and coffee, and to be hung out the back door first thing in the morning, now how silly is that, today I couldn’t do that, as I’ve given up nothing, and gained every thing, and realise hanging out the back door, with a fag, was a trap, but I’ve broke free and so can you,

Yes, it is such a welcoming place. And what better way to spend your time than to sit by the fire and watch your cigarettes go up in smoke as you throw them on⚰️. How many times have I quit over the last 4 months? I can’t count but what I do know is that you can always count on support here no matter how many times you try to quit , whichever way you use. Nobody’s ever turned away 👋😍

Doing so well this time 🙂 No real cravings - yet, that I haven’t been able to overcome. Combined with trying to eat better AND not drinking I’m hoping to keep this up. Day 8, so now I’m working on my 2-4 week challenge. But 1 day at a time 👍

10 days and all clear - no cravings and going cold turkey 💪 I am so surprised, especially when I consider the times I’ve fallen so early. But not counting my chickens yet! The longest I managed was 2 weeks both AF and NF so another 4 days. But then I’ll be halfway through my 4 week challenge 👍

It just proves that

a) you need to be in the right mindset, it’ll come naturally,

b)just keep trying and never give up trying,

c)never beat yourself up when you fall. You haven’t failed, as long as you keep trying

Hi Roisin, things are going great 👍. Last cigarette was on Christmas night 25/12/17 so just completed 17 days. No cravings as such and going cold turkey 🙂. Side effects: light headedness and palpitations, and recently sleeplessness. Practice nurse not too sure about palpitations so am booked in for ECG. Diet has gone to pot but am now working on that and Am getting a little excercise each day. I’m also quitting alcohol-last drink 26/12/17. It just all seemed to fall into place so went with it. My priority is smoking - if I have the occasional drink, fine but cigarettes are a definite NO-NO. Can’t thank you and all on this site for the support and encouragement, and especially when you could see I wasn’t ready to quit 😍

Well done on 63 days, that is great (30 October your start date, just for your milestone badges?)

The anger and depression, anxiety is normal, perhaps have a look at getting some herbal supplements in your local health food shop to help with these withdrawal symptoms.

You have come to the right place for help and support, post anytime about anything, we are here to help....

Ty I’ll check into the herbal supplements. I hate feeling so crappy, but health wise I feel amazing. More energy, smell better, etc. ty again for support, it is helping.
