It is Riks. It has a nasty habit of grabbing you just when you think you're coming out of the woods. The good news is that these days get fewer and further between, the more you go on. You also learn to deal with it better. Beast it out, it will be worth it.

I think I know what you mean - climbing up the wall, angry, irritable, unsettled, ready to smash something to bits? That's how I felt.

Huge welcome Riks, well done on Day 17, that is great!   I too quit cold turkey 7 months ago and never looked back.   It has been and still is a roller coaster of a journey but worth it all.   I am now at the happiest in my quit with very little cravings, don't really notice them anymore but can out the blue still knock me an odd day.....

The mental battle has begun in this stage of your quit, I would suggest reading up as much as possible on what is happening both mentally and physically.   Our brains our re-wiring to cope with no longer getting nicotine so will play tricks on us.   We need to be ready to attack at all times BUT, Riks, I promise it does get easier, once your 1 month milestone passes by , time goes much quicker.

Keep yourself as busy as possible, drink lots of water, avoid caffeine and surgery foods (if possible!) as contribute to triggers.    Get a bit of exercise every day.   Above all, embrace your quit....wishing you strength and success, look forward to reading your progress.,...

Hi Rigs...Welcome and congrats on your 17 days smoke free..

Your explosive feeling is it emotional or physical ???...If emotional Nosmo and Roisen gave you super answers and you can see it is normal...

If it is physical and you are feeling bloated or constipated Yes it is also normal....

To quit smoking is to jump on a roller coaster ...and you will have an amazing ride of emotional and physical ups and downs...

Stay strong....!!

Welcome Riks. 17 days is fantastic. What you describe is absolutely normal and we all go through it. I think Nozmo has hit it on the head. It will get better but you have to take one day at a time and beast it out!
