That was my motto.

One minute, one hour, one day at a time.

My tip is to stay away from smokers, cigarettes, cigarette smoke as much as possible because they are the biggest triggers. 👌

Take it easy on the drink (something I don't always stick to)

Interesting, how we all are choosing to quit, with the same goals ahead.

But we all I guess in part, just because we are all individual, have different ways and triggers that affect us.

My tip would be have the belief and determination that you can do it.....

I would say don't over think?

Don't look at what you've lost?

Dismiss your memories.there not really good memory's are they.

Make good new plans.put the past in the past

We want to say " I don't smoke"

How great is that.

All take care

Do keep kicking

My big tip would be to stay away from stress as much as possible and choose your battles, my kids a couple of days ago were playing up (I have 4year old twins and a 9 year old ) and just wouldn't do as they were told , was 15 minutes before hubby was due in from work so rather than stress out and fight with them I ran myself a bath and as soon as hubby walked through the door I was in the bath ! Xxx

Know thy enemy.....!

It is very important to know that we are up against one of the highest rated addictions...Nicotine is rated the same as Heroin with the only difference that with heroin cessation you are taken into an institute with highly trained medical personell.... With Nicotine cessation we are all on our own...

BUT... we have got each other, this forum, our willpower and determination, our families... Winning recipe !!!!

Sadly.... There's a strong element of truth on the statement.

It certainly is one of the most powerful additions that there is out there and fact is, I know a few people that were able to stop heavy drugs heroine / cocain and never succeeded at stop smoking.

It feels great to be on the other side, but knowing that although it becomes very easy to live without them, you still have to be able to say no every day.

Tge secret to win the battle is to NEVER say maybe or just this ONE, One is ONE TOO MANY...NOPE!!!

Hercu, good to have you back, I missed you around.

I know...I don't find this forum very appealing...

But I haven't been well anyway so I'm not going to complain about the forum because it's likely to be just me...

Small and large rewards helped me so much, anything I was buying I was comparing to the cost of cigarettes! So where I wouldn't think about buying a nice piece of beef I would now buy the beef and so on with everything. When I smoked I had nothing since I stopped smoking I bought myself a cheap car, and I have thousands in the bank, a mac desktop computer, a smart television, new good quality carpets throughout my flat, and quite a lot more! All paid for buy the money I saved by not smoking and the biggest bonus of all my health has really improved and I am FREE.

Its helps if I smell cigarette smoke especially on people, its turns me furrher away from smoking because the smell is vile, and I now apologise to my work colleagues for smelling like that!

The money also keeps me going - today I bought the cordless Dyson hoover, I could never have bought that 40 days ago, the cigarettes came first,
