Day 12

So today I was at the bus stop waiting to come home and a lady I knew came and sat next to me she sparked up a fag and offers me one ha ha I said ............................ No thanks iv just quit yay me but the whole time we was a talking all the smoke was in my direction I didn't know what to do with myself lol

I really was saying gimmie gimmie gimmie but I thought I had tried hard and didn't want to spoil what I'd already done . and I'm proud to say it but I am now a non smoker lol x

I bet you had a good feeling when you were able to refuse her offer though Sarah - well done.

Although I've been a smoker for over 30 years I've always hated the lingering smell that smoking leaves behind. When we were able to smoke in restaurants, pubs, etc I always hated breathing in other people's smoke - double standards or what??

A few weeks ago I passed a smoker outside the supermarket as I was going in and I actually savoured the awful smell of their cigarette even though I could smell that stale, lingering tell tale smell on me for quite a while afterwards. It sort of gave me that initial 'hit' that you get when you first light up and I'm not ashamed to say that for a few brief seconds I enjoyed it - I know I should be ashamed :o.

The good thing was that I realised that it wasn't a trigger for me to want a cigarette myself though.

Now I'm at the stage where I avoid smoke like the plague, I've gone back to hating it.

This probably isn't relevant or making any sense at all but for me it was another turning point.
