I am happily on day 12 my husband quit aswell....each attempt we both do it and encourage each other, it just works for us however since yesterday he's been smoking again.... I'm really disappointed, he's the strong one, he's the one that sticks it out no matter what, I'm the one that let's the side down, not him.....
I have no desire to have a fag but feel I need all the info from him " how many have you smoked" " what was it like" " do u feel better now you've had them" it's so silly because I really don't want one but I don't want him to smoke either.... Plus it hums to high heaven.... I wouldn't preach about that to him because obviously until 12 days ago no doubt I smelt the same no matter how much perfume I sprayed or gum I chewed.... Fingers crossed he gets the mojo back soon and jumps aboard the quit train again I don't like this flying solo lark.....x

Ooh you are doing doubly great...my husband was one of those really annoying types who had one every few weeks...he hasn't had one for 3 weeks now but if he did I would be so disappointed...you are doing great staying strong, hopefully he will quit again soon xx
Thanks ladies u are right, what bugs me is I know he has cigarettes even though he's not smoking around me and it's driving me potty, I don't even blinking want one! It's cos I know they are here! Yet another early night I guess lol x
My hubby is the same, said he was going to quit, but lasted all of a day or so, I've told him I don't want to know how many he smokes, when he smokes them, we always smoked outside never in house, so I don't even want to know when he nips out back, he's the one that preached to me quitting was so easy and he could do it anytime
Exactly the same as mine jess, we never smoked in be house and my husband has always found it "easy" he goes in the garden but it's no good, when he's out there I always need to put the recycling/rubbish/washing out...so silly really I come straight back in but it's like I need that whiff for a second.....
My hubby is always in the garage doing stuff to his car, so I'm used to him going in and out, so I just leave him too it, I do get the thought oh he has fags, I will go have 1 but so far have managed not to cave in x
Yes tv smoking drives me mad too.... I have come to bed out of the way, I think it's for the best
I agree with the TV, its a good thing that Bart Simpson and sponge BOB don't smoke, that's what I usually watch.
My partner arrived from a business trip, I was on my 5th or 6th day,...something like that. I remember I was in serious stress, really wanted to smoke.
So, although I told him that I was going to stop smoking, that I did stop smoking every day 50 times a day, his gift was 40 packs of marlboro lights (thats what i smoke)
He then placed the 4 carts on the kitchen table and told me they are for when I relapse.
Please don't laught too much, this is actually true!
Donna, stay strong! You're not flying solo, there's loads of us here
mmaya - that did make me laugh a bit, sorry! My partner, who doesn't smoke, bought some 'spare' fags for me the last time I REALLY tried to quit, for when I fell off the wagon. How lovely and helpful of him (He has strict instructions not to do that this time!)
Hey Donna, not all of us men are lily livered, weak willed cavers!
Get him on here, we'll soon sort him out!
You have to concentrate on your own quit and be an example for him to follow. Isn't it a nice feeling to be the strong one in this situation? If he's anything like me, and from your description he seems similar, if you continue to stay quit it will encourage/drive him into quitting too.
Keep doing what you are doing, remember this is primarily for your benefit
