Thought I'd come back and see the comments on the 7-Year Quit. Thought I would add this:

There were a lot of us quitting back then. Lots of people fell off the wagon, lots of them started up again, lots of us struggled, almost all of us despaired over it many, many times. There were weird personalities who got banned, others who were quiet, others who became addicted to this or that alternative, yet more who complained of gaining weight, but all of us worked together most of the time to achieve our Quits. (Do you still use a capital Q for the Quit?)

Here's a truth: this forum and the cross-support the members provided--worldwide, I might add, from Milan, Italy to Anchorage Alaska, Brisbane to Aberdeen--was invaluable and most all of us eventually succeeded. It worked for us, it will work for you. Just take things one minute, one hour, one day at a time and it will add up in no time at all!

Congratulations on 7 years, that's amazing. I'm still a week and a half off of 7 weeks and I really do appreciate reading posts like yours. It is proof to me it can be done and helps me along with my own attempt to quit.
