So I'm am feeling alittle lost! I had my last smoke on 16/10/13 but have been using the E-Cig since. I have now decided that it is time to give it the boot.
So since Monday I haven't used the E-Cig at all, my word, it is actually quite tough to come off that thing after almost a year. Surprised? Nope I shouldn't be!
Anyway, I am going to post here on this forum if that okay with you guys, although I have stopped "smoking" nearly a year ago - I think its time to stop "vaping" and basically just get rid of the nicotine once of for all!

You've achieved mighty things in staying quit for nearly a year and if you can proudly enter the hallowed portals of the Penthouse completely nic-free that'll be even mightier. I think you're quite right in deciding that this is the time to ditch the vaping and I shall keep everything crossed that any cravey moments prove short-lived.
I am really glad to see you back here posting. It's time to let all the last vistages of that habit go now. That's what the vape is to me (just my opinion), still hanging on to a bit of the habit.
Hi Chris, brilliant to have you here congrats on being a year smoke free, if it's any consolation one of our long term members is coming off the ecig and she said it is a lot easier than coming off real fags and the withdrawal doesn't take so long, so that's a real positive lets hope it's nice and plain sailing for you x
Thanks everyone for the welcome, I did feel abit of a fraud as its "Vaping" that I am coming off nowadays and not smoking - but kinda think that nicotine is a big link in there.
Anyway, Day 3 almost at an end (mid-day) and the Nicotine should be all pretty much expelled...here is hoping!
@ Skiddaw - fellow Readingite eh! Whereabouts are you? I am in Tilehurst/Purley borders.
I'm determined to do this and DonnaJ - I hope you are right that the withdrawal is easier - because right now, it doesn't feel great! :-S
Cemetery Junction Chris. Our house fronts Palmer Park and the garden backs onto the cemetery.
How are things today? Any better? I'm sure it won't take as long or be as tough as the initial quit. Am sending good vibes your way.
Sounds like the St Barts Road area. I used to live kinda up that way - near the three tuns pub (behind it to be precise!).
Things are alittle better, whilst definitely not as tough as coming off smoking, its still pretty tough. It feels like a bus has hit me in my sternum, tender to touch, I'm walking around with a hot water bottle on it, I am soooo macho!
Getting there tho and really want to leave the last bit of the habit behind for good!
Spot on Chris- St Barts it is! You must have lived in Tuns Hill Cottages I imagine? I haven't been in the Tuns for years despite living nearby. Used to frequent it when I was a student but that was many moons ago. When drinking locally we tend to frequent the Abbot Cook these days. Somewhat more upmarket in its current incarnation than it was when it was the Jack of Both Sides- dear me, a fight every night!
Poor you re the pain. I've heard that before from people who have quit vaping. I do hope it feels better today.

I do love the Edwardian houses that front onto Palmer Park. I used to love Colley's (sic) - have you been to the new place?
Yep, lived in Tuns Hill Cottages back in the early noughties - first house and all, wasn't a bad starter to be honest.
I had it when I quit the fags too, probably anxiety mixed in with the bronical tubes relaxing...who knows, I'm not a doctor! Vicks vapour rub helps on it tho!

Barts Grill- nope, still haven't tried it despite it being at the end of the road. No particular reason really (just haven't got around to it). Friends who have been say the food is good. OH and I tend to go the Bel & the Dragon when we're having a 'push the boat out' meal (no pun intended!) and Pizza Express or the Garden of Gulab when we're eating out more on the cheap.
I loved Colleys in its hayday. It went downhill a bit in my view in the latter years.
I like Tuns Hill Cottages. They're sort of a secret aren't they? It was some years before I realised they existed.
Me too. I really miss the Sardar. OH very nearly proposed to me there (in the end he bottled out and proposed in a drunken moment at a Christmas party a few weeks later ;)).
Barts Grill is one of the Miah empire (he branched out) but I don't think it is doing very well. Everyone associates him with Indian restauants don't they? I agree that all his Indian restaurants are good. The only Indian in Reading that I think can beat any of his is the Standard Tandoori (which is, of course, a Reading institution) even if the service is a bit chaotic to say the least.
