I have been lurking about on this site for a couple of months now reading peoples posts and generally being in awe of those who have quit.
It was this site that motivated me to think about my smoking habit and that maybe, just maybe, it was time to try and give up.
So 1 month, 4 days and 1 hour ago I did it - I gave up smoking! Woohoo!
Not easy, even with patches, and two other smokers in the house, and a little bit depressing when I stand on the scales, but I still have not touched a cigarette for nearly 5 weeks!
So,THANK YOU, all my fellow quitters, for sharing your top tips, your down days and your successes, because I have read them all and taken comfort in 'not being the only one' struggling and understand that the small successes are the important ones.
Now I've been brave enough to post on here too, I am looking forward to chatting with you over the next few years!!

I can only echo what the others have said- to have achieved what you have achieved despite being surrounded by people who smoke is a mighty and difficult thing and you have my whole-hearted admiration.
Do stick around Fiorano now that you have 'dun lurkin' and keep us posted on how it is going.
Hello Fi lovely to meet you and welcome most people on here are as nutty as a fruitcake (myself included :D) but we all have that common goal to quit and stay quit, so I'm glad you posted it's always lovely to meet new people on here and very well done on your 5 weeks xx
You already tackled a HUGE mile stone getting month one underneath your belt. Now you're charging the path into month two and every day it gets a little bit easier. (Even though it might not feel like it sometimes.)
This forum was KEY to my quit for about two months until I needed to step away and do it on my own for a bit to see how I would coupe. The people on here are bar none the greatest bunch of people you will ever meet on the internet.
