My nan started smoking again after 15 years but then requit again.
On the other hand my grandad smoked 30 a day for 54 years and then on his 70th birthday he just quit CT and says he doesn't think about it at all now 6 years on.
I suppose it can be different for everyone we just have to remain vigilant.
I only know one person who went back to smoking after more than a year. Everybody else 10 close friends and family are still quit so from my experience it's not the norm.
