Hi,

I read this forum and a lot of people that are over a month smoke free, some as far as 2/3 months smoke free are posting stating they are still getting withdrawals?

Could some of these symptoms be related to the time of year and the fact even lifetime non smokers have bad days with coughs and colds etc.

I've flown to 33 days and really thought I was passed the worst of it, days 5 to 20 were particularly bad but for the last 10 days I've felt as good as gold. Virtually had zero cravings the whole time, and had hoped I'd done enough.

Are there cravings and symptoms that happen months into quits? I just don't want to go back to smoking daily, I'm not particularly fussed if I have the odd one in drink every other month, just don't wanna get back into my old smoking routine!

I second - and third - that jenny, This is a drug, and like any drug Class A or alcohol, "just the odd one I can control it" is fatal I think.

I am nearly 9 weeks now, not a fantastic quit so far I know. But yesterday and today the cravings have been so strong for a fag !! Why !!? I don't know. :(

I actually found an unopened packet of fags in a bedroom drawer and almost opened them, really felt desperate. But what I did was pop a Niquitin 1.5 mg lozenge, and I haven't had one of those for ages.

Drop your guard and you've lost it - in my opinion. Personally I don't think there are any half measures, be so easy if there were. :(

I really enjoyed smoking - I find this difficult, but I will NOT smoke.

Best of luck in your quit though. :) bbx

I get thoughts of fags not craves as such, I know what you mean though there are lots of daily posts from people stuggling but it's not like that for everyone, I haven't seen it on here a lot to be honest, people might get the odd bad day after a month but not continually craving.... The psychological side can be a problem and I think you tend to let your guard down after a while and that's when it can be dangerous cos you fall into the "one fag won't hurt" scenario.....everybody is completely different :)
