Well, that's the works xmas lunch over and done with, and nary a wish of a fag was had! I even went outside to cool down at one stage and didn't even feel jealous about the smokers huddled in the shelter. All I was interested in was how soon I could escape to get home, put my feet up and undo the old top button pic4ever.com/images/Laie_52...

Nah, it was really quite boring - we all wanted an evening party but scrooge insisted on an afternoon thing :)

I always drive too, luckily I don't have to deal with country lanes anymore but I still would hate to be "that" driver who hurt someone just because they fancied a glass of wine  I also had to cook blokies dinner, he was working a 12 hour shift and I felt mean making him have a takeaway when I had some perfectly good bangers to make a toad with :p

Bless you I don't drive it, because I don't drive! And winding roads when one is a passenger, in the back, having had a few is NOT good!

Wish I'd had toad in the hole for tea - proper cold weather comfort food - YUM!

I am the worlds worst passenger after a few :( and I couldn't eat my dinner, I was still too full sob sob :o

That's so good Jennine, I'm so glad for you!!

Having a nice time *without* wanting a fag, that is flipping excellent!!

My work do is next week and I'd kill not to go out to the smoking shelter.

But, next year I'll be the same as you :D

(last year I hid, lol)

Know I've got a bit of a reputation on here, but am paranoid about not drink-driving, i agree with you 'cos it would be awful to hurt someone because I'd had a glass or two

pic4ever.com/images/626gdau... :DWell there's my early Christmas pressie! I log on and here you are!:D

Welcome back Gemma pic4ever.com/images/47b20s0...

Like you, I really do enjoy a large glass of wine, or four (gulp, I'm on the wrong forum) but there is no way I would risk others lives or my licence for that one glass. I am lucky enough that I can walk to work, ok it takes me an hour but that's suitable punishment for not controlling my urges. I was so stuffed yesterday all I wanted was water :o A Friday night without wine, what is the world coming to pic4ever.com/images/shame.gif

It is great when we beat these 'trigger' situations. I always thought I couldn't enjoy myself without a smoke:o, how daft was I. Love how we are all enjoying our do's:)

Amazing isn't it? One thing I personally really, really took pleasure in was the fact that, firstly, I didn't miss any banter by being outside on my own, in the cold and rain and secondly, I didn't have to hold my breath and not join in the conversation as I stank like an ashtray :D These benefits just keep piling up, just like pressies under the tree :D:D:D
