Forgive me for asking a personal question, but did stopping smoking have any effect on your cycle?

I'm asking because my unwelcome monthly visitor has pitched up a week early (which has never, ever happened) and is heavier than usual.

Sorry. Not a pleasant subject, I know, but I'm curious to know whether there could be a link.

Yes, I am a laydeee and I have experienced the same, I am also having palpatations as well, am not sure if its the menopause or not! :mad::confused:

Thanks all. Really interesting that it seems to be linked. I knew smoking obviously had huge effects on the body but I don't suppose it had ever occurred to me that it might affect hormones.

Could easily be related Helene but could be peri-menopause (we're about the same age and my cycle is completely unpredictable these days). Either way, hope it isn't too much of a pain to deal with- I know how irritating it can be when you don't know from one day to the next what to expect.

If blokes only knew what us girlies had to put up with!
