I've been looking forward to today for about a month, because I decided a while ago to stop smoking. Okay, it's maybe a bit of a cliche to choose New Year but I needed to look forward to something.

Me? I've smoked since I was about 15 or 16. When my beautiful daughter was born 5 years (and 3 days) ago I decided to quit. It took a few weeks but I eventually did, and managed to stay smoke free for more than 3 years.

But a couple of years ago........I started again. God only knows why, and I can't even remember what prompted it. :mad:

I've stopped a few times since - a few days here, and couple of weeks there - but my problem has always been staying stopped.

So that's why I'm here, typing away with a mid strength patch on.

Because I want to stop. And I hope that being here might help.

I'll try to post every day to say how I'm doing, and if I'm struggling then any words of wisdom or encouragement will help greatly!

Good for you. You've done it once for a long time, so you know it can be done. I did it once before for about 15 years and am also proof that you cannot have one ever. It leads to so many more. Be strong and stay strong. xx

Totally hear what you're saying and I think that belief is such a big part of it - you've done it before - it can be done - now just to make it happen.

I guess we're about to find out if it can be that easy.
